Botox Aftercare – The Complete Guide
After receiving Botox, following proper aftercare is essential to achieve the best possible results.
At Clinic Ten, patients are given detailed aftercare advice to help maximise their treatment results.
What To Do After Botox
Stay Upright for 4 Hours
Avoid lying down for at least four hours after treatment. This helps prevent the product from spreading to unintended areas.
Gently Move Facial Muscles
Some practitioners recommend gently moving the treated muscles (such as smiling or raising your eyebrows) to help the Botox settle into the targeted muscles.
Avoid Heavy Exercise
Strenuous exercise should be avoided for 24 hours after treatment, as increased blood flow may reduce effectiveness.
Avoid Alcohol
Alcohol can increase the risk of bruising, so it’s best avoided for at least 24 hours.
Skip Facial Treatments
Avoid facials, massages, and skincare treatments for 24–48 hours after Botox injections.
What Not To Do After Botox
After treatment, avoid:
Touching or rubbing the treated area
Intense exercise
Sauna or steam rooms
Heavy alcohol consumption
These precautions help ensure Botox remains in the correct muscles.
When Will Results Appear?
Results from Botox develop gradually:
3–5 days: first improvements appear
10–14 days: full results become visible
Patients at Clinic Ten are often invited for a review appointment to assess results.
